Handy study!
Hand studies (and a bit of other things also, but try to focus just in the hands). These are from imagination, I've not only posted the "good ones" in this case only to show you the importance of repeating when you fail on some drawing. Salt Stanchfield said that all of us have 10 000 bad drawings to do, so it's better if you let them come out right now! so people, don't be afraid to make mistakes, because you learn a lot with them!
Some hat Studies. I think it's good not only to whatch real hats (in photos, and even hat's you might have in front of you) but also to see how other artists draw their clothes and drapery! In this example I have studies from not only photo's but also, Akira Toriyama and Akihiko Yoshida (I love how these two masters draw clothes!)
Good night again, I here are some studies from Glen Keane's art! I like to studie not only models, but also how other artist's represent the model. I think it's a pretty fun way to improve, and it keeps me fired up! Notice that in these studies I'm publishing I rarely put finished pieces, in this studies for instance, I'm more focused on the action and of course on the lines and shapes. This is a hint I got from "radhowto" blog which is an awesome blog to get inspired, and learn new things.
Here are some Gesture drawings I did. This kind of drawing studies I try to do at least 3 times a week! Of course there's not a formula to how many times you should do some kind of work, it all depends on the effort you put in each drawing you do, I've came to understand with the few experience I have, that it's not only how many drawings you do, but, how you do those drawings! what are you thinking at the moment, are you just putting random lines? are you just making copies? I've understood from not long ago that you should understand how to draw, rather than just copy what you see, this way I think you learn quite a lot more!
Hello, my name is João Freches and I'm an artist. I love animation related art, and decided to create this blog to share some of my studies as I try to achieve my goals in this world of figurative/animation. I hope you find this blog interesting, and have a good time whenever you come here to visit my blog and follow my daily studies, and hopefully watching me improve my skills!
